Edinburgh BioQuarter

Edinburgh BioQuarter is a health innovation district in Edinburgh, bringing together healthcare, medical research, life sciences and entrepreneurship. Its vision is to unlock the area’s innovation potential, support growth and establish BioQuarter as a global destination for pioneering health innovation and enterprise. Over the coming decade, it plans to develop into a mixed-use urban neighbourhood centred on a community of health innovators and companies.

A key strength is the co-location of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh teaching hospital, a world-renowned school of medicine, leading medical research institutes and life sciences businesses. This creates connections among clinicians, academics, scientists and entrepreneurs, supporting collaboration across healthcare and research. BioQuarter also provides information about its location, property offering and sustainable travel, and highlights its partners and resident companies. Its community work includes engagement, community programmes and STEM education, with opportunities for people to get involved. Through these facilities, networks and initiatives, Edinburgh BioQuarter connects organisations and communities working to advance health innovation and enterprise in the city.
