The Polar Express Train Ride Edinburgh

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride Edinburgh is a seasonal Christmas attraction that recreates the much-loved children’s story on a real moving train. Based at Edinburgh Waverley Station, the experience brings families aboard for an immersive, approximately one-hour journey inspired by the book by Chris Van Allsburg and the motion picture soundtrack. On board, performers welcome passengers, lead festive activities and caroling, and serve hot chocolate and a sweet treat. The story is read during the ride, and Santa visits to greet families and present each passenger with a silver sleigh bell, described as the First Gift of Christmas.

Guests can choose between Standard and First Class. Standard includes the theatrical journey, refreshments and Santa’s visit, with seating mostly arranged in an airline-style layout and a limited number of tables. First Class adds a guaranteed table seat, an exclusive souvenir mug and a more spacious carriage atmosphere. The Edinburgh event is operated and managed by Holdham Events Limited under licence from Rail Events International.
