Welcome to the Edmond Historical Society and Museum, where we celebrate and preserve the rich history of Edmond, Oklahoma. As soon as you step through our doors, you'll be immersed in the captivating story of our community. Our exhibits showcase the growth and prosperity of Edmond, from its humble beginnings as a one-family train stop to the vibrant city it is today.

We take pride in highlighting the history of the prairie and Native People before statehood, as well as the significant milestones such as the arrival of the railroad in 1886 and the Land Run of 1889. Edmond's education and religious values are also highlighted, as we were home to the first schoolhouse and church in the Oklahoma Territory. In addition to our fascinating exhibits, we offer a Research Library & Genealogical Center, a Children's Learning Center, and a range of entertaining programs and classes, all free of charge.

Groups of 10 or more visitors are encouraged to schedule their visit in advance. Housed in a historic Native sandstone building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, our museum is a testament to the rich culture and heritage of Edmond.
