EdoBEST is a government-led intervention program in Edo State, Nigeria, designed to revolutionize basic education in the state. Launched in 2018 by Governor Godwin Obaseki, the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (EdoBEST) program aims to improve learning outcomes for children in public primary and junior secondary schools. The program has made significant strides, transforming the education sector and impacting the lives of over 370,000 students across 1,029 primary and 232 junior secondary schools.

One of the key achievements of EdoBEST is the training and empowerment of over 16,000 teachers, both novice and experienced, to become technologically supported educators. This investment in teacher development has translated into improved classroom performance and behavior among students. Additionally, the program has implemented data and technology-driven school management practices, enhancing overall efficiency and accountability.

EdoBEST is committed to ensuring that teachers are present and actively teaching in classrooms. Using government-issued tablets, teachers register their attendance upon arrival at school. This measure is part of the program's core objective to prioritize teacher presence and engagement in the education system.
