The Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) is Australia's independent education evidence body. Our vision is to achieve excellence and equity in educational outcomes for all children and young people through effective use of evidence. As a registered charity, we generate and present high-quality evidence that is relevant and accessible to educators, teachers, and policymakers.

Our aim is to encourage the adoption and effective implementation of evidence-based practices in both policy and practice. AERO was established in 2021 as a national education evidence organization, following the recommendation from the Gonski Review 2. 0.

Our work includes conducting research projects on equity in education, analytical insights, literacy and numeracy, professional learning research, and maximizing the value of educational data. We collaborate with the education sector, ensuring diversity and inclusivity in our work. With transparency and integrity, we strive to enhance the integrity of our processes and build trust through openness and support for new ideas.
