About Edtech East Africa
EdTech East Africa is a brand that is dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration in the education technology sector in East Africa. Our goal is to create inclusive, effective, and resilient education systems, all powered by technology.
The brand was founded in 2014 by Jennifer Cotter Otieno and Missy Mwendwa Kago, who recognized the need for a community where edtech innovators could come together to share their experiences, access resources, and amplify their voices. What started as a small gathering of 12 people has now grown into a thriving community of edtech enthusiasts in Nairobi, Kampala, and Dar es Salaam.
EdTech East Africa's vision is to accelerate the progress of evidence-based technology use in education. We strive to do this by promoting innovation, collaboration, and a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the ecosystem.
