Northwest Pain Guidance is a resource initiative supporting pain education for patients and healthcare providers. Its materials help patients understand pain and explore practical ways to manage it, including guidance on sleep, nutrition, physical activity, mood, social connection, pain flare-ups, and medications. The Pain Education Toolkit offers downloadable worksheets and videos, with content available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Chinese. The site also provides peer support resources and tools for clinicians, including a clinician handbook, assessment tools, practice guides, and learning opportunities.

Clinical resources address topics such as acute and chronic pain, low back pain, opioid tapering, buprenorphine cross-titration, difficult conversations, pain care for older adults and people with dementia, and cancer and palliative care. Additional offerings include a course on changing conversations about pain, a webinar on active listening, and information on opioid prescribing and medications requiring special attention. Formerly known as Oregon Pain Guidance, the initiative now collaborates with providers in Washington state and shares clinical updates and evidence-based recommendations.
