The National Secretariat for Christian Education (SNEC), also known as the Foundation National Secretariat for Christian Education (FSNEC), is an organization of the Catholic Church in Portugal. It coordinates and supports three areas of Catholic education: catechesis, Catholic Religious and Moral Education (EMRC), and Catholic schools. Its work brings together educators, catechists, schools, diocesan offices, and the wider educational community.
SNEC provides information and resources for faith formation and teaching, including editorial publications for catechesis. It also promotes national meetings, conferences, symposia, and training opportunities that encourage reflection on educational practice, religious education, and the role of schools. Topics highlighted by the organization include human development, ethics, dialogue, inclusion, and the challenges of technology in education.
Through its website and EDUCRIS video channel, SNEC shares news, interviews, perspectives, and updates on events across Christian education in Portugal. Its activities are intended to foster a living faith and support education that engages the spiritual, intellectual, social, and personal dimensions of each individual.
