V. V. De Eekheuëre is a carnival association rooted in the Ekenderveld area, dedicated to celebrating and preserving local Vasteloavend traditions.
Its website introduces the association’s community, leadership and activities, including the Council of Eleven, youth groups, former princes and the Eekheuërevrung. It also documents the history of carnival seasons, with records of princes dating back to the 1970s, and highlights distinctive traditions such as the Poeffel Moeffel and its associated philosophy and landmark. Music is an important part of the association’s programme: its archive features annual carnival songs and slogans spanning several decades.
The site also shares news, photographs and information about events, including the HalfvastenBal at Hoeve De Aar, an evening of music, carnival atmosphere and conviviality featuring performers and carnival groups from Heerlen. Visitors can explore the association’s history through a jubilee book and learn about its dialect celebration, merchandise days and newsletter. V.
