The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is a radical and militant movement for economic emancipation formed in 2013 by Julius Malema and Floyd Shivambu. This South African political party aims to bring together activists, community-based organizations, and lobby groups to fight for economic freedom. With an anti-imperialist and leftist perspective, the EFF draws inspiration from the Marxist-Leninist tradition to analyze society's class contradictions and challenge imperialism and unjust laws.

The EFF's vision is to associate with protest movements in South Africa and globally, actively engaging in struggles against imperialism. Their mission is to rid the country of imperialist domination and contribute to the national and international fight against global imperialism. The EFF has outlined pillars of economic emancipation, including land expropriation without compensation, nationalization of strategic sectors, abolition of tenders, and free quality education, healthcare, housing, and sanitation.

Inspired by the Freedom Charter, the EFF interprets South Africa's economic resources and opportunities as belonging to all its people. While advocating for nationalization of certain industries and banks, the party also supports a strong industrial policy to drive social and economic development. With a commitment to accountability and corruption-free governance, the EFF is dedicated to advancing economic justice and equality in South Africa
