Welcome to the EFYE Education Centre, the heart of our non-profit organization EFYE (Eagle’s Fountain Youth Empowerment). As a preschool and primary school, we provide a refuge with a future perspective for approximately 106 children in the Mathare slums of Nairobi. Together, we strive to empower children and youth through education, enabling them to build a better future for themselves and their communities, and eliminate inequalities.

We want our children to leave school with strong personalities, physical health, and the confidence to face life. Education is fundamental to achieving this, and at the EFYE Education Centre, it is provided free of charge to all children. Our school is recognized by the government and caters to 106 students aged three to twelve.

Located in the Mathare slums of Nairobi, Kenya, we believe that education is not just about imparting knowledge, but also about personal development through collaborative learning and interaction. Our children acquire skills for independent thinking in social and cultural contexts, learning to reflect on their own path. At our school, children and youth experience what it means to support and care for each other.

They become friends, laugh, play, and our competent and caring teachers provide them with a sense of security and safety. In addition to mental strength, we also prioritize the physical health of our children. Daily warm meals, prepared by our cook Jane, healthy portions of fruits, and basic hygiene practices such as regular handwashing are integrated into our learning environment, promoting health-consciousness.
