The Egyptian Carbon Exchange, also known as EGCX, is a regulated voluntary market created to promote sustainability and climate action in Egypt and the wider region. It supports businesses and institutions pursuing lower-emission pathways and helps turn carbon-reduction efforts into environmental and economic value. The exchange also aims to strengthen Egypt’s role as a regional hub for carbon markets and climate finance across the Middle East, North Africa, and Africa.

EGCX facilitates the trading of carbon credits and provides information on projects, brokers, registries, transactions, and market activity. Its website reports 27 projects across five countries, six registries, 14 brokers, and updates on credits available for trade and traded. The platform also publishes market news, trading announcements, and guidance on carbon-credit trading and settlement procedures. In addition, it shares sustainability disclosures and ESG and TCFD reports, alongside updates on Egyptian Exchange activities and sustainability initiatives. Through this combination of market infrastructure and information, EGCX connects climate goals with investment and supports the development of a greener economy.
