EHBO Vereniging Sassenheim is a volunteer-led first aid association serving Sassenheim and the wider Teylingen area. Founded on 4 March 1934, the association has spent more than 90 years training volunteers and supporting community wellbeing. Its members provide first aid at local events through an event team made up of trained volunteers with valid Diploma Eerste Hulp (DEH) qualifications.

The association offers a range of first aid education. Its beginners’ DEH course teaches practical responses to different situations under the guidance of an instructor affiliated with Het Oranje Kruis. Members can attend follow-up lessons to keep their diploma, which is valid for two years, current; up to twelve hours of lessons are available annually. Courses also cover first aid for children, while CPR training includes AED use and follows guidance from the Dutch Resuscitation Council and the Dutch Heart Foundation. The association also delivers tailored workshops for primary schools and volunteer organisations, based on each client’s needs.
