Ehrengarde Heimerzheim Anno 1974 e.V. is a nonprofit association dedicated to preserving and promoting Rhineland carnival traditions in Heimerzheim, the municipality of Swisttal, and the surrounding region. For more than 50 years, it has brought people of different ages together through carnival, community activities, and volunteer service, while also supporting regional dialect and cultural heritage.
The association’s formations include a cadet corps, a corps of guards, the Korps à la Suite, and a music corps, which operates in cooperation with Fanfarencorps Blaue Funken Alt Lommerzem. Its youth program offers girls and boys aged 4 to 25 opportunities to learn and perform guard dancing, build teamwork, and take part in stage appearances. The organization welcomes members and participants of all ages, making it a family-oriented community.
Activities continue throughout the year. The association takes part in local carnival events and organizes gatherings including a summer festival, season opening, children’s carnival session, costume party, and participation in the Heimerzheim Rose Monday parade.
