Eichhörnchen in Not Datteln

Eichhörnchen in Not Datteln e.V. is a nonprofit animal-care association founded in September 2017 in Datteln, Germany. Serving the Recklinghausen district and beyond, it provides a safe home and ongoing care for squirrels and other animals in need, including cats, wildcats and wildlife. The association continues a rescue and care effort that had previously been carried out privately and on a voluntary basis for many years.

Its work focuses on supporting animals until they can be released back into the wild. Animals unable to live independently in nature are given a suitable permanent home and continued care. The association also shares updates about animals needing support, such as young orphaned squirrels, and offers a telephone contact for people who find a squirrel in need.

Eichhörnchen in Not Datteln e.V. relies on public support to care for the animals. Supporters can contribute through financial donations, food and other material donations, donation boxes at local locations, memberships, or sponsorships.
