About EiE Nigeria
Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria, also known as The EiE Project, is a dynamic brand that emerged from two citizens' protests in 2010. These protests focused on pressing issues such as the absence of the President, killings in Jos, and fuel scarcity. The demonstrations took place on March 16 at the National Assembly and on April 13 at the Lagos State Governor's office. The mobilization for these protests laid the foundation for EiE, which started as a loose network of individuals and organizations dedicated to holding public officials accountable to the citizens.
EiE has made significant strides in Nigeria and across the African continent during its ten years as a formal organization. It operates with a small team but has managed to leave a lasting impact. One of EiE's flagship campaigns is R|S|V|P, which stands for Register, Select, Vote NOT Fight, and Protect. This campaign emphasizes the importance of active citizenship and encourages young people, as well as all Nigerians, to engage in the democratic process.
EiE leverages technology to reach a wide audience. Through the use of email, SMS, Twitter, Blackberry Messenger, and Facebook, the organization effectively utilizes these platforms for education, engagement, and mobilization. With a focus on technology, the brand aims to influence Nigeria's largest voting demographic – individuals between the ages of 18 and 35.
EiE's vision is rooted in the belief that young people have the power to shape Nigeria's destiny. The brand's mission revolves around continuously evolving processes that enhance citizen engagement and promote good governance. EiE places great value on patriotism, integrity, passion, excellence, and service.
By utilizing technology, EiE aims to reach as many Nigerians as possible, particularly those with access to the internet, mobile phones, television, and radio. By empowering citizens and fostering civic engagement, the brand strives to drive positive change in Nigeria.
EiE's dedicated board members, including Hadiza Mohammed, 'Yemi Adamolekun, Bisola Edun, Zeal Akaraiwe, Omolola Adele-Oso, Fadekemi Akinfaderin-Agarau, and Ishaya Bako, bring a diverse range of expertise and experience to the organization. They collectively contribute to EiE's mission of advocating for good governance and addressing social issues in Nigeria.
In summary, EiE Nigeria, also known as The EiE Project, is a prominent brand committed to citizen engagement and good governance. Through their impactful campaigns, reliance on technology as an educational tool, and dedication to empowering young Nigerians, EiE aims to shape Nigeria's future for the better.
