About 日本映画大学
日本映画大学（公式）is the official website for Japan Institute of the Moving Image, the only film university in Japan. Founded by acclaimed director Shohei Imamura in 1975, Japan Institute of the Moving Image was established to provide a learning platform for aspiring filmmakers amidst the decline of the Japanese film industry. Guided by Imamura's philosophy of having an interest in human beings, the university has been nurturing future filmmakers since its inception in April 2011.
