Eigendrum is an innovative platform that allows users to visualize and interact with sound like never before. Based at eigendrum. com, this unique tool enables users to draw any shape and hear it as a real drum, thanks to its sophisticated use of finite element analysis to calculate real vibration modes.

Unlike traditional drum sounds that rely on audio samples, Eigendrum produces sounds derived directly from the drawn outline, ensuring that each frequency is a true reflection of its shape. The platform is user-friendly, allowing individuals to strike the drumhead using keyboard controls and manipulate their designs with intuitive drawing tools. Whether you’re interested in crafting intricate shapes or simply exploring how different outlines affect sound, Eigendrum caters to both casual users and sound design enthusiasts.

With financial support from its community, Eigendrum remains free to use and advertising-free, promoting a creative space for learning and experimentation in acoustic science and sound art
