Kooperativet EILA is a nonprofit association and personal assistance cooperative based in Ängelholm, serving people in northwestern Skåne. Founded in 1995, it supports members with disabilities who are entitled to personal assistance under Sweden’s LSS law. EILA operates without a profit motive and acts as an advocacy group for its members, taking overall responsibility for their assistance and the staff who provide it.
The cooperative’s service is designed around each person’s individual needs and wishes, with an emphasis on quality, safety, continuity, personal influence, and the freedom to live life on one’s own terms. EILA helps people who already have an assistance decision and want to change provider, including practical support with the transition. Its website also provides information about personal assistance, LSS, documents, and the organisation.
EILA welcomes new members and recruits personal assistants who are professional, understanding, and committed to helping others. The cooperative has around 20 members and more than 150 employees, and holds a collective agreement with Fremia.
