About EIRS
Edo State Internal Revenue Service (ESIRS) | Bénin is a pioneering revenue generation agency in Nigeria, committed to efficiency, transparency, and building trust with taxpayers. With a vision to be the most efficient and transparent agency in the country, ESIRS aims to provide value-added services to taxpayers while ensuring a sustainable system of tax administration and optimized revenue generation. Established under the Edo State Revenue Administration Law, 2012, ESIRS replaced the previous Board of Internal Revenue.
The agency operates as the operational arm of the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue and is responsible for revenue collection in the state. ESIRS offers a range of services to taxpayers, including tax law consultation, various tax types, and access to tax offices for assistance. Additionally, they provide tax documents, a tax calculator, and information on approved rates.
The agency also promotes e-services such as e-registration, e-payment, and the ability to file returns online for convenience. With a commitment to integrity and accountability, ESIRS is dedicated to optimizing revenue generation for the benefit of Edo State
