Ekocentrum

Ekocentrum Bacín is an environmental research and education centre run by the registered association Centrum ekologického výzkumu a výchovy. Based in Všeradice, in the Beroun district, it continues the work of Ekocentrum Kavyl and focuses on the natural and cultural heritage of the Český kras Protected Landscape Area, particularly the area around Bacín.

The centre conducts research and shares information about the region through lectures, guided walks and excursions. It also produces specialist publications and materials, including the Fragmenta Ioannea series, and offers public activities such as exhibitions, seminars, courses and conferences. Its educational and outreach topics include sustainability, resilience, fungi identification, and selected areas of Far Eastern learning, including the Tao Te Ching and introductory Chinese language and writing. Educational programmes for schools, teachers, families, older adults and children with special needs were previously offered but have been suspended for an extended period.

Ekocentrum Bacín also provides a mushroom-identification service by prior email arrangement on weekdays.
