About Association ELA
Welcome to the website of the European Association Against Leukodystrophies (ELA). ELA is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 by Guy Alba. Our association brings together families who are committed to overcoming these rare genetic diseases.
Recognized as a public utility since 1996, ELA aims to support families, promote research, raise awareness, and expand our actions internationally. ELA offers various services and campaigns to achieve its mission. We provide support to families affected by leucodystrophies, contribute to research efforts, and organize informative events.
One of our flagship campaigns is Mets tes baskets, endorsed by the Ministry of National Education since 1996. This initiative encourages schools to participate in sports activities to raise funds for ELA and promote solidarity. Through donations, partnerships, and fundraising events, we strive to make a difference in the lives of those affected by leucodystrophies.
