About Google Cloud
Filestore is Google Cloud’s fully managed, secure cloud file storage service, providing scalable network-attached storage through native NFS file shares. Built on Google’s distributed storage infrastructure, it supports high-performance workloads that need shared access, including high-performance computing, AI, media rendering, data analytics, and enterprise applications. Customers can choose Filestore Zonal for demanding workloads, Filestore Regional for applications requiring resilience to zonal outages, or multi-share options for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
Capacity and performance can be adjusted independently, helping organizations match storage to workload needs. Filestore supports shared read/write access from services such as Compute Engine, GKE, VMware Engine, and Cloud Run. For GKE, its managed CSI driver lets multiple pods use the same file system.
Data protection features include snapshots, backups, scheduled backups, and cross-region replication. With high throughput, low latency, and support for large-scale capacity, Filestore helps teams migrate and run storage-intensive workloads in the cloud without redesigning applications for object storage
