About El Cholo
El Cholo is a renowned and beloved brand that offers the best Mexican food in Los Angeles. This family-owned restaurant has a rich history dating back to 1922 when Alejandro Borquez and his wife Rosa, inspired by Rosa's exceptional cooking, opened The Sonora Cafe. It wasn't until a guest drew a figure of a man on the menu and called him EL CHOLO that the name was changed, making history.
