electricrates.com

ElectricRates.com is a Texas-focused electricity plan comparison service designed to help consumers understand what a plan is likely to cost in practice. Rather than ranking offers by headline rates, it compares plans using estimated monthly bills based on the customer’s ZIP code and electricity usage. Users can enter their details and test different usage levels, such as 500, 1,000, or 2,000 kWh, to identify plans whose pricing may be affected by usage thresholds or other conditions.

The service emphasizes unbiased comparisons, with default rankings based on the lowest estimated monthly cost. It also highlights potential hidden fees and provides access to plan fine print through the Electricity Facts Label (EFL). A tool for testing EFL document links is included, and users can exclude compensated providers if compensation is enabled. ElectricRates.com incorporates estimated local utility delivery charges into its all-in pricing, while noting that actual bills depend on usage, plan terms, and charges set by the local utility.
