Founded in 2003 by proprietors Reydan and Roger Weiss, Elephant Hill is located in the breathtaking Te Awanga region of Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. With a passion for winemaking, our team merges traditional values with a contemporary approach to create wines that are balanced, elegant, and a true expression of the vineyards they come from.

Our vineyards are carefully selected and hand-picked to ensure only the best fruit is used in our winemaking process. We have three vineyards in the renowned sub-regions of Hawke's Bay, each with its unique soil types and microclimates that contribute to the complexity and character of our wines. From shingle to clay to stony river beds, our diverse soil types allow us to produce wines with a range of flavor profiles.

At Elephant Hill, sustainability is a core value. We prioritize the preservation of the land by treading lightly and implementing a state-of-the-art water treatment system to recycle winery waste water. Our vineyards are also 100% accredited by Sustainable Winegrowers of New Zealand.

Inspired by the beauty of the Te Awanga coast, our architectural design prioritizes harmony with the environment. Our buildings are clad in natural green pre-patinated copper, reflecting the colors of the ocean and grape vines. We believe in creating a world-class destination that embodies the essence of grape growing and winemaking.
