About Elephant Valley Project
ELIE Elephant Livelihood Initiative Environment (E.L.I.E.) is a registered local non-government organization based in Mondulkiri, Cambodia. With a strong dedication to elephant welfare, ELIE aims to improve the health and well-being of captive elephants in Mondulkiri Province, conserve the natural habitat of wild elephants, and support the local communities working with these majestic creatures.
Since its establishment in 2006, ELIE has been providing veterinarian care and mahout-oriented education to families and communities who own captive elephants in the province. Through various programs and projects, such as an elephant research and monitoring program, a mobile veterinarian program, and an ecotourism project (The Elephant Valley Project), ELIE works towards achieving its goals.
ELIE's vision is to develop an elephant sanctuary where working elephants can rest and retire, while also offering province-wide veterinary care and social support programs for the Bunong people. By providing employment and job-based training to the community, supporting their forest conservation efforts, and alleviating pressure on the local resources, ELIE strives to create a sustainable and harmonious environment for both elephants and humans.
For more information about ELIE and their initiatives, visit their website or contact the dedicated team members. Join the team to make a difference in the lives of elephants and the local community.
