About Éléskarma

Éléskarma is a brand committed to improving the physical and mental well-being of the Hungarian society. With the country's health indicators falling behind the EU average and showing a decline each year, private individuals are finding it increasingly difficult to afford consultations and developments related to their physical and mental health. This is where employers can make a difference by supporting the mental and physical well-being of their employees at the organizational level, thereby improving the health indicators of the country.

The mental state of the Hungarian society is particularly worse compared to the rest of Europe, despite the country's economic situation. A significant portion of the population struggles with recurring mental health issues. These not only pose severe psychological, economic, and societal burdens but also contribute to the development and worsening of physical illnesses. Depression is a serious problem in the country, with a higher prevalence compared to the regional average. Additionally, the number of adults and children with diabetes has been increasing in recent years, while the population size continues to decline. Almost 60% of the population aged 15 and above is overweight. The presence of ultra-processed foods in our diet further exacerbates this negative trend.

Stress is the foundation of most illnesses, making its proper management crucial for prevention. However, as individuals can increasingly afford less private consultation and development regarding their health, the responsibility of employers becomes more significant. Supporting employees' health through non-salary benefits and health promotion programs is not only a market advantage but also a societal interest. Recognizing this correlation, introducing sustainability metrics (ESG) has involved larger companies in supporting and developing the health of their human resources.

The emergence of employee well-being programs, health days, educational wellness lectures, organizational well-being programs, stress management, and resilience training in the market indicate a demand for such support. A survey conducted by Jobsgarden last year showed that two-thirds of employees and employers believe that employers are responsible for supporting employees' health.

In response to this demand, several businesses have specialized in building corporate well-being strategies and offering comprehensive health support solutions.

If employers truly recognize their responsibility in relation to the health and well-being of their employees, positive changes can be observed in the society's health indicators in the long run.
