Elevage du Ricou

Élevage du Ricou is a horse-breeding and boarding business based in Saint-Léger, in France’s Charente-Maritime region. Founded in 1997 in Tesson, the operation moved in 2002 to its current location, less than ten kilometres away. It was established by Eric Varin, a keen rider who has practised equestrian sport since the age of nine and has taken part in a range of competitions, particularly show jumping, known in France as CSO.

Over nearly three decades, the business has grown and now operates across 21 hectares. Its core activities are the care and boarding of horses and horse breeding. The Élevage du Ricou website also provides information about its facilities and breeding work, and features horses for sale. This gives prospective clients and visitors an overview of the operation and its equestrian services. Located at 9 rue des Saules in Saint-Léger, Élevage du Ricou brings together Eric Varin’s longstanding experience in riding and a dedicated horse-focused operation in the Charente-Maritime countryside.
