About EL GRIFO
Bodegas El Grifo is the oldest winery in the Canary Islands and one of the oldest in Spain, located in Lanzarote. With a rich heritage dating back to 1775, they offer visitors the opportunity to explore their historic winery through guided tours and also provide an online store. The unique terroir of volcanic soil, combined with the extreme conditions created by fire, wind, and rock, gives their wines a distinct character and personality, capturing the essence of their unique land and climate.
They even maintain vineyards dating back to the 19th century, where the grapes are hand-harvested one by one. Notable wines include the award-winning El Ancestral Ecológico, which won gold at the Gaia Wine Challenge, and George Glas, Bacchus de Oro 2023, recognized at the Concurso de la Unión Española de Catadores.
