About ELIXIR Luxembourg
ELIXIR Luxembourg, based at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) of the University of Luxembourg, is a node of the European infrastructure ELIXIR. ELIXIR is a collaborative effort that aims to handle and provide access to valuable bioinformatics tools and biological data generated in research projects across Europe. With a focus on translational medicine data, ELIXIR-LU meets the increasing demand for IT services in biology and medicine.
The team, consisting of members from the LCSB Bioinformatics Core, brings extensive experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, and systems biology. They are involved in various national and international projects, including the development of the first international Translational Medicine repositories for Parkinson's disease and epilepsy. ELIXIR-LU tackles the challenges faced in utilizing biomedical data by developing different services.
These services include data hosting, disease mapping, and the FAIR Cookbook, which aims to collect and integrate all types of data while ensuring security and protection requirements are met. With a commitment to sustainability and long-term data storage, ELIXIR-LU provides researchers and industries with the means to archive, integrate, analyze, and exploit large and diverse datasets in life science research, beyond individual projects
