About Elizabeth Street Garden
Elizabeth Street Garden (ESG) is a renowned brand that stands for the preservation of community green spaces in Little Italy, New York City. As an independent, community-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ESG is committed to exploring all options available to protect and save the garden, which is a vital and cherished green space for the community. Former members of the garden's previous organization, along with active garden volunteers and advocates for community gardens, came together to form ESG in 2016.
The organization received federal tax-exempt status in 2017. ESG's mission is to safeguard the magic of Elizabeth Street Garden as a public green space for generations to come. The board of directors, consisting of dedicated individuals from various backgrounds, diligently works to ensure the garden's preservation.
