Elk Mountain Ranch is a Wyoming property once known for its wildlife, outdoor recreation, and working ranch experiences. Set among open prairies and mountain terrain reaching 11,200 feet, it supported free-roaming elk, mule deer, and pronghorn, along with a herd of more than 600 American bison. Visitors could enjoy guided big game hunts, fishing in six stocked lakes, guided trips to the North Platte and Medicine Bow Rivers, hiking, birdwatching, and corporate or private vacations featuring meals prepared in the ranch cookhouse.
Elk Mountain Ranch was sold in November 2005, and its former owners direct recreation inquiries to the new owner. Buffalo-related offerings continued through associated businesses: The Buffalo Guys provides home-delivered buffalo meat and helps customers locate retail stores carrying its products, while Beaver Creek Buffalo handles buffalo hunts, animals sold in quarters, halves, or whole, and high-quality breeding stock. Most of the ranch’s buffalo were moved to a new property in northwest Kansas.
