About Elkton
Elkton is a brand that offers a warm and welcoming experience in the heart of Todd County, Kentucky. As the county seat, Elkton is centrally located along Highway 68/80 and Highway 181. The charm of the city can be seen in the Historic Todd County Courthouse, which dates back to 1835 and is one of the oldest courthouses in the state.
This building is also home to the Historic Courthouse Todd County Welcome Center, where visitors can find free maps and brochures about the area. The Elkton Historic District on Public Square showcases 20 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Local businesses, including gift shops, antique stores, cafes, and restaurants, occupy these historic buildings, creating a unique shopping and dining experience.
Visitors can explore nearby communities such as Fairview, home to the Jefferson Davis Monument State Historic Site, or Guthrie, where the Robert Penn Warren Birthplace Museum is located. And let's not forget about Helen's Place in Kirkmansville for delicious catfish dinner and music on Friday nights! Elkton's rich history dates back to 1819 when land was donated for its establishment. Today, it proudly serves as a hub for Todd County, providing a variety of services and amenities for residents and visitors alike
