Ellery Design is an independent bridal wear and dress design business based in Newport, South Wales. Led by Avril, the studio creates bespoke wedding gowns and prom dresses, shaped around each customer’s fit, preferences and personal requirements. Its services also include garment alterations and restyling, giving treasured dresses and suits a new lease of life and helping customers wear them again with confidence. For special occasions, customers can explore dress design services alongside handmade jewellery and accessories, including decorative combs, necklaces and earrings available through the shop.

Ellery Design also offers practical sewing workshops at its Barnabas Arts House workshop. Sessions cover sewing machine basics, understanding commercial patterns, introductory dressmaking and making a skirt, with guidance suitable for beginners as well as those looking to develop their skills. Workshops are held on the first Tuesday of the month, require advance booking and generally ask participants to bring their own sewing machine.
