El Morru

Fiestas de El Morru is the official organizing committee behind the El Morru celebrations in Llanes, Spain. Led by a local commission that took responsibility for the festivities in 2011, the group works to create an enjoyable end-of-summer celebration for residents and visitors. Its approach combines revived local traditions with new activities, aiming to bring the community together and make each year’s programme memorable.

The festivities have featured traditional games such as cucañas and the potato dance, alongside newer attractions including El Descender. The programme has also included lively vermouth gatherings with mariachi or charanga music. Through its website, the commission shares event updates, programme information, photographs, and news, and invites people to support its work through a collaboration page. It has also organized a golf tournament and community raffles, with past promotions including a prize linked to the value of gold. Visitors can find details about the celebrations and contact the commission through the website and its Facebook and Instagram channels.
