Everlasting Nature of Asia (ELNA) is a certified non-profit organization established in August 1999, dedicated to the conservation of marine life and their surrounding environments throughout Asia. Initially focused on supporting the Yayasan Penyu Laut Indonesia, an Indonesian NGO, ELNA gained recognition as a non-profit organization in 2002 and has since expanded its operations significantly, becoming a certified NPO in Kanagawa, Japan in 2013.
In collaboration with local communities, ELNA strives to create a sustainable coexistence between marine ecosystems and human activities. Their work includes comprehensive surveys and conservation efforts for sea turtles and humpback whales, primarily in Indonesia and the Ogasawara Islands. ELNA emphasizes a field-based approach to understanding and resolving ecological challenges, utilizing scientific research to inform their conservation strategies. Additionally, they engage in environmental education and provide information through various channels to raise awareness about marine conservation. By fostering community involvement and scientific reporting, ELNA aims to ensure a thriving marine environment for future generations.
