ELRA

ELRA, the ELRA Language Resources Association, is a non-profit organisation founded in 1995 to make language resources available to the wider human language technologies community. It supports researchers and practitioners working in areas such as natural language processing, computational linguistics, speech and multimodality, with a focus on resources and evaluation.

Through the ELRA Catalogue, the association provides a way to discover and obtain language resources, alongside information on ordering, licensing and free resources. Its services cover resource identification, distribution, licensing, production and validation, and it promotes standards and best practices. ELRA also supports the International Standard Language Resource Number (ISLRN), which helps identify language resources, and connects the community through institutional and individual membership and special interest groups.

The association organises and supports conferences and events, notably the Language Resources and Evaluation Conference (LREC), and provides access to conference proceedings and related publications. Other activities include the LRE Journal, newsletters, activity reports and initiatives such as the Antonio Zampolli Prize.
