Elsass Fonden is a Danish foundation dedicated to improving quality of life for people with cerebral palsy (CP) throughout their lives, and supporting their families. Established through the legacy of Helene Elsass, who had CP, the foundation works to help people with the condition and their loved ones access better opportunities and support.
The foundation shares knowledge about cerebral palsy and life with CP, and contributes to research, projects and initiatives. Its work reflects the potential for change associated with neuroplasticity and the importance of specialist knowledge and appropriate methods. Elsass Fonden also offers courses, events and activities for people with CP and their families. These include opportunities for physical activity, creative experiences, peer connection and learning about topics such as identity and mental wellbeing. Some activities are designed for particular groups, including adults with CP and parents of children with the condition.
Through its grant programme, the foundation provides support for projects and individuals.
