Emancipet

Emancipet is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making veterinary care affordable and accessible to everyone. It operates low-cost clinics to help pet families access high-quality care and support pets’ health and well-being. Its locations serve communities in Houston, Austin, Pflugerville, Killeen, and Philadelphia. Mobile clinics also provide first-come, first-served care in Central Texas.

Services vary by clinic to meet local needs and include wellness checkups, vaccinations, microchips, and flea and tick prevention. Emancipet also offers low-cost spay and neuter procedures for dogs and cats, dental cleanings and treatment, surgeries for conditions affecting pets’ health or comfort, and heartworm treatment for dogs at select locations. Urgent care is available for certain emergencies, including pyometra or dystocia surgeries for female dogs and cats; clients are asked to call ahead. The organization also provides pet record requests and online prescription refills for eligible clients. Through donations, educational resources, and community events, Emancipet works to reduce barriers to veterinary care and help pets stay healthy with their families.
