EMCA

EMCA, the École des Métiers du Cinéma d’Animation, is a school in Angoulême, France, dedicated to education and professional development in animated cinema. Its teaching programs include Bachelor and master’s-level study, supported by a teaching team and technical facilities designed for animation training. Students develop their skills by creating films, with works ranging from stop-motion and cut-paper animation to varied original stories. The school showcases these productions and shares news about student projects, alumni achievements, festival selections, and professional events.

EMCA also supports connections between education and the animation industry through partnerships, professional-development activities, and resources for alumni and industry professionals. Its offerings include continuing professional training, while workshops such as a cut-paper film workshop for young people introduce animation to broader audiences. Master classes and events provide further opportunities to learn and engage with practitioners. Prospective students can explore the programs, admissions information, tuition fees, and student life, or attend the school’s open days. Through education, filmmaking, and industry engagement, EMCA prepares students for careers in animation.
