Emerald 3DS is an unofficial fan project that brings Pokémon Emerald to Nintendo 3DS and 2DS consoles as native homebrew, running directly on the system rather than through an emulator. It offers a dual-screen adventure, with gameplay on the upper screen and a dedicated touch interface below. Players can optionally explore a voxel-style overworld with adjustable camera settings and stereoscopic 3D on New 3DS, alongside enhancements such as high-resolution battle interfaces, follower Pokémon, day-and-night lighting, and gameplay options.
Experimental local wireless features include nearby trades, battles, minigames, contests, and other link activities. The project provides a browser-based builder that processes a clean dump of the user’s own Pokémon Emerald cartridge locally; ROM data is not uploaded or distributed. Builds are available in English, Spanish, French, and Italian, depending on the source cartridge.
The site also provides installation instructions, tutorials, release notes, screenshots, and download options, including a Home Menu forwarder. A console with Luma3DS custom firmware and the Homebrew Launcher is required
