Emerald & Forgotten Coast Adventures Inc

Emerald & Forgotten Coast Adventures is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Florida’s Panhandle. The organization creates engaging, hands-on experiences that help students, residents, and visitors learn about the region’s marine ecology and history, connect with nature, and build a commitment to environmental stewardship.

For K–12 schools, it offers standards-aligned field trips at state parks across the Panhandle. Students collect real data, handle live organisms, and explore coastal habitats with educators. Topics include Gulf beaches, coastal dune lakes, seagrass beds, and oyster reefs, with activities such as water-quality testing, plankton observation, bird identification, and invertebrate study. Programs are designed to support classroom learning and typically run for half a day.

Emerald & Forgotten Coast Adventures also provides field adventures for the wider community and summer camp opportunities. Teachers can access preparation materials, including safety information, maps, forms, and site-specific guidance. The organization welcomes volunteers who enjoy working with young people, science, and the outdoors. Supporters can contribute through donations or merchandise purchases, helping extend the nonprofit’s educational work and coastal experiences.
