Emerald King Aquatics is a dedicated resource for aquarists passionate about livebearers, offering insights into both wild and selective strains of these fascinating fish. Founded by Stan de Jong, a seasoned aquarist with a rich background in fishkeeping and breeding, the website showcases a wide variety of livebearer species beyond the commonly known commercial types. It emphasizes the complexity of livebearers, highlighting that not all species are easy to maintain or breed.

The site features articles on guppy genetics, hybridization, and explores the nuances of behavior and care for various livebearing toothcarps, including Endlers and Xiphophorus. Stan shares his extensive knowledge gained through personal experience and travel across countries like Venezuela, Colombia, and Mexico, where he studied wild fish habitats. As a non-commercial platform, Emerald King Aquatics serves as a valuable community hub for knowledge exchange among aquarists seeking innovative and thoughtful approaches to keeping and breeding livebearers
