Emerald Lakers Basketball Club is a community basketball organisation serving Emerald and the surrounding Cardinia, Yarra Ranges and Dandenong Ranges communities. Founded in 1989 to give local children the opportunity to play basketball close to home, the club has grown to support players of different ages and abilities, from young beginners to senior competitors. Its programs and teams provide a welcoming pathway to learn the game, develop skills and enjoy playing as part of a local club.

Based at Emerald Primary School Basketball Stadium, the club operates five days a week and participates in junior basketball, competitions and regional tournaments. Emerald Lakers teams compete each weekend in the Knox Basketball Association, with games hosted at venues including the State Basketball Centre, Fairhills High School and other satellite stadiums. The club also shares player, coach and team manager resources, news, registration information and playing uniform orders through its website. Supported by local businesses and community partners, Emerald Lakers helps bring players, families and basketball supporters together across the region.
