The Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge is a nonprofit arts organization serving Pitt County and eastern North Carolina. Its mission is to enhance community quality of life by promoting artists and arts organizations, educating through the arts, and making creative experiences accessible to everyone. Based in Greenville, the organization offers classes and workshops for children and adults in pottery, metal design and jewelry, painting, drawing, and other artistic techniques. Programs also include youth and adult classes, family workshops, private lessons, group activities, art parties, and seasonal spring break and summer camps, with scholarship applications available.
Emerge Gallery & Art Center features two galleries with rotating exhibitions, along with a sales gallery showcasing work by local North Carolina artists. The council also presents community events and arts programming, including ArtWalk, festivals, and a music series, and provides facility rentals. Its outreach includes the Youth Public Arts Project and Art is Good Medicine, which serves young people and people affected by cancer.
