Emergence is an art, facilitation and ritual practice led by Fern Smith and Philip Ralph, creating spaces for dialogue, inspiration and change since 2010. Based in Mid Wales, it supports individuals and groups to explore creativity, personal transformation and more compassionate ways of living and working. Its offerings include rites of passage and initiatory ceremonies for life transitions, residential workshops and retreats in creative and nature-based practice, embodied imagination and trauma-informed bodywork, and one-to-one coaching and mentoring.

Emergence also designs and facilitates bespoke processes for learning, community-building and organisational change, serving creative, academic and not-for-profit projects. Through artwork and participatory events, it invites people to engage with the idea that everyone is an artist. The Emergence Centre provides self-catering accommodation and studio or working space for artists’ residencies, writers’ retreats, creative research and development, and small groups seeking time for rest and reflection.

Its programme includes guided seasonal retreats and a nature-based rite of passage in the Dyfi Valley, alongside space hire and creative projects
