Emergency Campaign to Support Higher Education

The Emergency Campaign to Support Higher Education is a nonpartisan initiative of Faith in Action, a 501(c)(3) organization advocating for a more affordable, accessible, and relevant post-secondary education system. It brings together students, parents, alumni, faculty, education workers, community members, college leaders, and partner organizations to defend student opportunity, academic freedom, and campus autonomy.

The campaign promotes policies that strengthen financial aid, including Pell Grants, work-study, and student loans. Its current effort urges Congress to close the Pell Grant shortfall, double the maximum award, adjust it for inflation, and make funding mandatory. The campaign also supports debt-free education for students with modest means, inclusive campus communities, protection of legally protected personal data, and continued investment in medical and public health research.

Through initiatives such as Raise Hell for Pell, Hands Off, and Schools Drop ICE, the organization offers ways to take action, including signing petitions and postcards to Congress, joining or forming campus steering committees, attending trainings, and participating in events.
