Emergent Roots

Emergent Roots is a consulting and education practice founded by Kate Leftin and Claudia Menasche. Based in Fairfax, Virginia, the organization supports people and businesses as they navigate risks, crises, and complex change. Its work aims to help build a resilient, connected, and regenerative economy grounded in collective well-being, collaboration, and healthy relationships with nature and one another.

Emergent Roots offers strategic planning and business coaching for organizations in the DMV, helping them identify leverage points, strengthen trust, develop adaptable processes, and build long-term resilience. Its Refuturing Workshops help individuals and groups explore alternative futures, develop systems-based thinking, and apply creative approaches to leadership and organizational practice. The organization also provides guided forest bathing, a sensory immersion inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, as well as educational presentations on nature and well-being.
