The CER is a non-profit company registered in terms of the Company Laws of South Africa. The CER brings together a network of Africa’s emerging researchers to contribute towards the generation, application and advancement of research and alternative solutions to Africa’s developmental challenges. The CER pursues this objective through capacity building for emerging researchers, facilitation of sector-specific and interdisciplinary research collaborations, and the design and implementation of programs centered around Africa's developmental challenges and Sustainable Development Goals.

About Centre For Emerging Researchers

The Centre for Emerging Researchers (CER) is a dynamic hub dedicated to nurturing a network of emerging researchers and analysts across Africa and the diaspora. Our focus is on developing alternative and responsible methodologies for Research and Development solutions to address current and future challenges on the continent. We provide reliable, evidence-based research and analysis to inform scholarship, policy choices, and implementation models.

Our goal is to reduce uncertainty and improve decision-making by fostering a community of researchers, innovators, and writers. CER offers Research and Policy Advisory Services to anticipate and respond to socio-economic opportunities and threats. With over 300 affiliated researchers, 5 public and private sector partners, and a presence in 70% of South Africa's universities, we prioritize accuracy, relevance, prediction, and timeliness in our work.
